Framed in Blue: A Kensington Blue and Vicenza Oak Custom Kitchen

Framed Colour, Warm Oak and Tailored Metallic Details — Zonavita flat-panel cabinetry pairs Vicenza Oak insets with Kensington Blue framing, Irah Crystal White counters and champagne-bronze accents.

This residence is a colourful modern custom kitchen by Towne and Countree, an Edmonton, Alberta-based custom cabinetry and countertop company. Zonavita flat-panel doors in Vicenza Oak are inset into Kensington Blue frames, giving every block of cabinetry a tailored, furniture-like presence. Champagne-bronze pulls, sink details and lighting warm the high-contrast palette.

The design opportunity was to make bold colour feel architectural while keeping the kitchen highly functional. Towne and Countree framed each cabinet block in Kensington Blue, used the three-piece recessed colour stack—nicknamed the “Oreo”—as a signature accent, and designed a custom flush hood that blends into the blue framing. An inlaid champagne-bronze channel connects the hood to the pulls and sink, while a gold pop-up outlet brings discreet power to the island. Irah Crystal White 3 cm countertops with a standard eased edge keep the work surface calm. Routed undercabinet lighting highlights the gorgeous hexagonal terrazzo backsplash, which was installed by another trade. The result is a distinctive, precisely detailed kitchen that balances strong colour with warm wood and everyday function.
